Vote 'Yes' on Bill 924
Bill 924, passed unanimously by our County Council, limits major retail size to
65,000 sq ft within the County's commercial and limited industrial zones.
County-wide citizens participating in the two year development of the
current draft Talbot County Comprehensive Plan similarly proposed the cap,
emphasizing that businesses of this size should reside within the commercial
zones of the incorporated towns to prevent urban sprawl.
In an attempt to defeat Bill 924, Lowes has spent considerable money collecting
enough signatures to place the question on the Nov. 2nd ballot. Bill 924
is sound legislation and reflects the desire of Talbot County residents. Please
vote 'Yes' on Bill 924 to ensure that major retail centers remain within the
towns, supported by more environmentally sensitive town sewerage, preserving
Talbot's waterways and rural character.
