Talbot Preservation Alliance packed The Avalon Thursday night, the 19th, to present a forum on Talbot County's offer to the Hospital, of 90 acres on Route 50 next to the Community Center, for their proposed new hospital and relocation.
The Forum began with a 10-minute documentary-style movie on the history of the hospital, produced by Danny Tepper. Danny's background is TV production, as well as being an author. As a Talbot County resident himself, now, Danny generously offered to write and produce this historical documentary on the hospital for TPA's Forum. In the movie, Danny included interviews with 9 Talbot County residents, who also gave generously of their time and memories:
Leslie Adelman, Walter Black, Lee Bailey, Russell Dize, Tom Duncan, Dan Higgins, Mike Newnam, Polly Shanahan and Mayor Bob Willey.
The Forum then moved on to deliver important information regarding:
The 100 years of support from the community to the hospital.
The economic affect the hospital has on the economy of Easton and Talbot County.
Details of the County's land offer and why this location, adjacent to Easton, works economically and geographically.
Information comparing the Smart Growth aspects of the County's land offer versus another possible location, near 404 and 50, that the hospital has says it's considering.
And last, what YOU can do to help keep our hospital in or adjacent to East.
The best way to see all that you missed at the Avalon, or see the presentation again, even if your were at The Avalon, is to watch the video taping to be shown by Easton Cable on Channel 15.
Starting May 3rd, Easton Cable will be showing the Forum on Thursday nights at 7:00 P.M. and Midnight, and again Friday morning at 9:30 A.M.
